Myofascial Release

"I've had massages, including deep tissue, but I felt like the next week my muscles were tight again. I was searching for something that maintained longer results and was personalized each visit to what was going on with my body, not a standard massage that was the same each time. " -Meryl
What Is Myofascial Release?
Myofascial release (MFR) is a safe, gentle, and highly effective therapy for treating chronic pain. It uses a hands-on technique that applies gentle, sustained pressure to targeted areas, releasing tension and restoring movement in the fascial system.
Why Am I Experiencing Chronic Pain?
Chronic pain can stem from various sources, including:

-
Stress or health conditions
-
Injuries (past or recent)
-
Surgery or trauma
-
Posture and movement patterns
-
Overuse from activities you enjoy

Sometimes, chronic pain remains unexplained—but MFR helps uncover and address its root causes.
How Does MFR Work?
We start with a standing assessment to identify areas of misalignment. During the session, both client and therapist are actively involved, listening to the body's cues and working to release restrictions.

MFR goes beyond treating symptoms—it seeks to find and release the source of pain, even if it’s in a different part of the body. Over time, this approach leads to deeper, more effective results.
Understanding the Fascial System
Your fascial system is a 3D network that supports and connects every part of your body. It wraps around:

-
Muscles, down to individual fibers
-
Bones, tendons, and ligaments
-
Organs, blood vessels, and nerves

When one area of fascia is restricted, it can create tension or pain elsewhere. Releasing one restriction can lead to relief in unexpected areas, revealing the body’s incredible interconnectedness.
What Makes MFR Unique?
Your body is always communicating, and pain is one way it sends a message. During MFR sessions, we focus on quieting the mind, breathing, and exploring sensations to uncover hidden restrictions.

We honor what your body reveals, even if it doesn’t seem “logical.” If treating your neck reveals tension in your ankle, we follow where your body leads.
How is MFR different than massage?
With nearly 8 billion people on Earth, there are 8 billion unique fascial restriction patterns. Myofascial release is not a rigid protocol. It's a personalized journey designed to meet your body’s specific needs.

The fascial system and healing are not linear. By listening to what your body tells us through its fascial system, we can create significant, lasting changes.

Myofascial release doesn’t end in the treatment room. After a session, you may notice:
-
Memories or emotions resurfacing
-
New or different sensations in your body
-
Awareness of patterns, postures, or habits you hadn’t noticed before

These are all part of your healing journey. You can bring these observations to your next session if you’d like to share.
